Usually, it is very difficult to work with kids but your actor is doing a great job!

Thanks Alex. We were auditioning some child actors but couldn’t find any.

So this child is not an actor. We just saw him and he acted for the first time.

He was very good. With non actors some magic happens.

( Iranian films are the great examples)

I have just finished watching your short film and yes, you should really enter it into contests and film festivals! It has a lot of potential and it very realistic and relatable. The plot is well made – I like how the child keeps asking about the “ants”. In spite of his very young age, he is also a very good actor, just like Alex said. The quality of the image and sound are also very good. Congratulations to you and your crew for the hard work!

I wish you good luck at the festivals! When you are just starting, you don’t have to win, it can help a lot to get your work noticed by others so don’t get demotivated no matter the result!

This child is so calm, in spite of all that chaos that is happening around him. Everything was crumbling and he was wondering “why the ants are dead”. It reminded me of when I was a child and I would ask myself silly questions while adults would struggle with their lives. It is a part of us I don’t think we will get back.
Did you enter this to any festival yet? There are a few that are posted on our forums, too. I can message them to you if you wish.

Hi Julia. It feels good when you said that. Cinema connects us in the same way.

Pratik, I have watched your movie. It has more than “just potential”. If you don’t mind, what is the background story behind this? What inspired you to create this movie? I am very curious to know. 🙂

        Hey Amy…thanks for the reply.

The original story i wrote in 2013.

The idea was to have that child like curiosity in the chaos around us. The child with his innocence could see things very purely. And also to create some connection between humans, other creatures and the surrounding in which we live. Humans find themselves superior all the time and in that process we loose te. Child inside us.

Sadly, the longer we go on in this world, the more of that innocence we leave behind. Sometimes, I miss having that pure view of my surroundings, when everything was so easy and when I could sleep at night because my mind would enjoy each moment in the present. Now I have all this anxious thoughts that keep my mind awake at night.

I guess our journey is to go back to that child inside us.

For festivals, i am also curious and excited.

I think I missed that part but how did the bird got out of her cage? I watched it two times and I must have missed it.

Hi Colton…so the home got burgled that night when the family left the house.

Thieves took the money and other belongings. Also ate the sweets kept on the table and freed the bird also.

(Everything comes through dialogues when the family comes back)

I understood they got robbed but the dialogue with Dadu and the child confused me at the end. I wonder if the bird is ok out of the cage.

Hey Pratik! Just checked out your short film – and wow, I’m truly moved by what you’ve put together. The storytelling, the visuals, the emotions – it all comes together beautifully. Keep that creativity flowing, Pratik, and I have no doubt your film will catch the attention it deserves. You managed to remind me of my own childhood. And the ending…I think we all are like that bird, free at the end.
