About the Speaker

CHRISTOPHER BAFFA, ASC (Director of Photography) graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television, attaining his first theatrical director of photography credit in 1994.

Christopher has been fortunate to work in television and theatrical feature films. His films include ASHBY, STEP SISTERS, THE ROAD WITHIN, and Ryan Murphy’s RUNNING WITH SCISSORS, the film adaptation of Augusten Burroughs’ novel starring Annette Bening, Alec Baldwin, and Gwenyth Paltrow. He also photographed the comedies UNACCOMPANIED MINORS, NEXT FRIDAY, and IDLE HANDS, as well as the highly acclaimed independent film SUICIDE KINGS starring Christopher Walken.

In television, Christopher recently completed THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY, and photographed HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, THE 4400, David Goyer’s KRYPTON, CROSSBONES, KIM POSSIBLE, and Michael Bay’s THE LAST SHIP. Christopher photographed the pilot and subsequent seasons of FX Network’s Golden Globe winning drama NIP/TUCK, the pilot and first three seasons of the multi award-winning GLEE, and the pilots for TNT’s THE CLOSER and the FX drama AMERICAN HORROR STORY.

Christopher was awarded Variety’s Ten Cinematographers To Watch Award in 1999, and honored with an invitation to become a member of the American Society of Cinematographers in the spring of 2007.
