A typical day in my student life

When you think of London, the hustle and bustle of the city and its iconic landmarks may come to mind. But to many, this busy metropolis offers much more than just a beautiful skyline – it’s a hub for creativity, innovation and learning.

At Metfilm School, located in London, students have the opportunity to learn the secrets of filmmaking. Here is where I study “Practical Filmmaking”. Here I am learning all aspects of filmmaking, from pre-production to post-production.

A typical day in the life of a student at Practical Filmmaking starts early. Depending on the course, classes may begin as early as 9:00 am, however, most of my classes run from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. During the day, I learn about many topics, from scriptwriting and directing to cinematography and editing. I learn from experienced professionals in the industry, who share their knowledge with us, the students.

In addition to lectures and seminars, I also participate in a variety of practical exercises. These give me the opportunity to put my newfound knowledge into practice. I work together with my classmates to create short films. Sometimes, we also have the chance to visit film sets and work with industry professionals on real-life productions.

At the end of the day, I reflect on what I have learned. This helps me understand which skills I am working to develop. It also gives me a better understanding of my student experience.
