Toronto Film School Term 5 Acting students showcased their talents in a production of Occupy Verona. A modern twist on Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet directed by David Matheson. Inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement, the timeless story of the Capulets and Montagues is given a modern context. At times comedic, violent and tragic, Occupy Verona preserves the lusty poetry of Shakespeare's verse and couples it with a dynamic bare bones staging. Through misadventure and sacrifice, the two star-crossed lovers bring their feuding families to "occupy dignity". There were no costumes, no sets, no frills, just pure talent.
