Sony Pictures' Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D Opens at Digital IMAX(R) Theatres as Part of 3,200+ Location Opening

Immersive IMAX(R) 3D Experience Available for Special Two-Week Run
(Los Angeles) IMAX Corporation (Nasdaq:IMAX) (TSX:IMX) and Sony Pictures Releasing
announced that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the highly-anticipated fourth installment
of the popular film series based on the video game, opens for a special two-week
run on 140 digital IMAX screens domestically, simultaneously with the film's
wide 2D and 3D North American release at 3,200 + locations. The movie will also
open on 24 digital IMAX screens internationally starting and an additional 20
or more international IMAX screens during the following weeks.
Resident Evil: Afterlife was photographed in 3D, and the IMAX release has been
digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience(R)
with proprietary IMAX DMR(R) (Digital Re-mastering) technology for presentation
in IMAX(R) 3D. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre
geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique immersive environment that
will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead,
Alice (Milla Jovovich) continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them
to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights,
but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises
a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive
the city is overrun by thousands of Undead - and Alice and her comrades are
about to step into a deadly trap. Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson,
the film is produced by Jeremy Bolt, Paul W.S. Anderson, Robert Kulzer, Don
Carmody, Bernd Eichinger, and Samuel Hadida. A Constantin Film International
