Film studies student Rob Savage wins the top prize at the ShortsNonStop International
Film Festival. "Act" his short film having been voted to the finals
by the public and then screened to a panel of industry professionals, who unanimously
declared it the winner. 77 films were selected for the festival, which were
uploaded online for the voting public to watch, comment on and rate –
this determined the final ten films that would be screened to the Festival Jury.
As a result of this, the Canadian Film Centre, whose funds support the festival,
have awarded $1500 prize money to Rob, the writer and director, and free entry
at a host of other prestigious film festivals for the film. The money will be
funnelled into the budget for "Strings" a feature film to be shot
this summer in the Shrewsbury area by the Director/Producer team of Rob Savage
and Nathan Craig.
Anyone willing to be involved in Rob’s next project should contact the
award winning team at Dir.Npac [ at ] googlemail [ dot ] com for more information.
