The short documentary, "A Glimmer Of Hope," filmed and audio recorded
by Jonathan Paul Deguire, centers on Downtown Kelowna, the heart of this city's
problems. A place of gangs and homelessness. But among all, there is a glimmer
of hope that shines: Kelowna's Gospel Mission. Now that it is winter time, it's
needed even more. Most of the people in Kelowna aren't even aware that this
place exists. Kelowna's Gospel Mission isn't just another soup kitchen although
it does feed people. They provide food, a place to sleep, hair cuts, dental
work, affordable housing and clothing, counseling, inexpensive appliances and
furniture. "A Glimmer Of Hope" is a look into some of the ways the
mission is making a difference.
