International 3D Society Honors Jeffrey Katzenberg at 3D Awards Show Tuesday Night

The International 3D Society (I3DS) will recognize Jeffrey Katzenberg, 3D visionary and CEO of DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. at the 3D Honors Awards this Tuesday evening, February 23 at the Mann Chinese Theatre.
(Los Angeles) The International 3D Society (I3DS) will recognize Jeffrey Katzenberg,
3D visionary and CEO of DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA), at the
3D Honors Awards this Tuesday evening, February 23 at the Mann Chinese Theatre.
Katzenberg and DreamWorks Animation will be presented with the prestigious
3DVision Award, it was announced by Jim Chabin, President of the Society.
The International 3D Society provides community, education, and recognition
for 3D professionals.
Oculus3D President and International 3D Society Awards Co-Chair Lenny Lipton
remarked, "Jeffrey Katzenberg has championed the cause of 3D filmmaking,
in which he saw great potential as a medium of creative expression. He had the
foresight to commit DreamWorks Animation to stereoscopic filmmaking, pushing
the envelope and resulting in innovative and visually compelling content. For
these reasons we are thrilled to honor him and DreamWorks Animation this evening."
The 3D Society will present 3D Honors for outstanding stereoscopic 3D achievement
in motion pictures, awarded in eleven categories. The winners of the 2010 People's
Choice Awards for Favorite Live Action and Animated 3D Motion Pictures will
also be announced on Tuesday evening. The People's Choice Awards were voted
by the fans.
The 3D Vision Award was created for outstanding achievement in advancing the
arts and sciences of 3D technologies and Jeffrey Katzenberg will be the first
recipient.
Chabin stated, "Jeffrey Katzenberg has been an inspiring advocate all
over the world for the implementation and use of 3D these past few years. His
lasting impact makes him the appropriate recipient, along with DreamWorks Animation,
of this year's inaugural award."
