(Burlingame, CA) Actress, Shelene Atanacio, was awarded "Break Out Action
Star" at the Pasadena Action on Film International Film Festival for her
role in the film Codename: Dragonfly, where she plays secret agent Lola Basheer.
Shelene received her award at the Black Tie Gala and Awards Reception on July
29, 2010. Awardees in other categories include a Life Time Achievement Award
going to legendary actress Talia Shire from The GodFather. The Pasadena Action
on Film International Film Festival brings together over 500 filmmakers from
around the world.
In other news, Shelene was also nominated for "Best Actress" at the
American International Film Festival. She is also known for her role in the
independent film, Harrison Montgomery, starring Oscar Winner Martin Landau and
actor, Octavio Gomez of Che. Earlier this year, the actress turned author released
her first book, Act From The Inside Out: Powerful Acting Tools to Transform
Your Real Life, published by Bush Street Press, which hit the Top 5 in Women's
