If it is true that art can be a universal language, can artists from totally
different worlds and cultural backgrounds work together? In this enthralling
documentary film, two visual and performing artists from Germany travel to remote
villages in Mali – to co-create works of art with the villagers that fuse
together traditional techniques of music, dance, singing, smelting ore, and
blacksmithing. The results are truly amazing, reflecting the harmonious blending
of two cultural perspectives. 2010; 84 min. In Bambra and German, subtitled.
