Bread and Roses Festival Announces Appointment of New Director

Linda Siegenthaler, President of the Bread and Roses Heritage Committee, announced the appointment of Carmela Lanza-Weil as the director of the 2013 Festival.
Linda Siegenthaler, President of the Bread and Roses Heritage Committee, announced
the appointment of Carmela Lanza-Weil as the director of the 2013 Festival.
“The Committee is thrilled to have Carmela come on board,” Siegenthaler
said. “She brings over 25 years of experience in non-profit administration
along with expertise in community engagement and event production.”
Lanza-Weil added, “The Bread and Roses Heritage Committee looks forward
to meeting with local community leaders to brainstorm ways we can work together
to make this year's festival the most successful yet.” Lanza-Weil moves
to Lawrence from Baltimore, MD. Her career includes directing, producing, teaching,
new play creation, acting, and administering programs in diverse settings, including
regional theaters, higher education, opera companies, and arts festivals. She
holds a BS in business and marketing, summa cum laude, from Concordia University
and an MFA in Theatre from Towson University.

Linda Siegenthaler is the president of the board of the Bread and Roses Heritage
Committee, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization that produces the annual Bread
and Roses Festival.
The Bread and Roses Festival celebrates its 29th year producing an arts and
history festival in Lawrence, MA commemorating the Bread and Roses Strike of
1912.
