Learn the basics of story structure, character development, plot, and format.
The basic foundation for all forms of filmmaking is the story. This one-week
workshop sets each participant with a story idea for a feature or short film
and on a road to a successful screenplay. Students learn the process necessary
to develop stories and shape ideas by creating interesting characters, putting
them in challenging and dramatic situations and creating suspense and tension.
They learn how to write an outline, build a three-act structure, find plot points
to turn the drama and write dialog and action. Most of all, students leave with
an understanding of what turns a story into a dynamic screenplay.
Winter/Spring lodging and meal package available for $450. Includes breakfast
and lunch Monday – Friday. Dinner services are not available during our
Winter/Spring session.
