Young America's Foundation (YAF) recently ranked Regent as a "Top Conservative College" for 2011-2012. The list places Regent as one of 15 leading institutions that strengthen the conservative values of its students through its mission and programs.

"The YAF ranking is very significant for Regent, which prides itself on being a Christian institution based on the American founders' principles," said Dr. Paul Bonicelli, Regent's executive vice president. "This ranking demonstrates to both prospective students and prospective faculty that we take our commitment to these values seriously by offering courses of study in several primary areas of global influence."

YAF's list was initially created in response to parents' and students' frequently asked request of recommending schools for the conservative college experience. According to YAF's website, the colleges selected encourage students to explore conservative ideas and authors. They also offer coursework and scholarship in conservative thought and emphasize principles including smaller government, strong national defense, free enterprise and traditional values. The 2011-2012 colleges on the list appear in alphabetical order on YAF's website.

YAF also noted Regent's signature events, which include The Ronald Reagan Symposium, featuring nationally and internationally known scholars who speak on topics such as "The Future of Conservatism" and "The Future of American Culture"; Clash of the Titans®, an annual debate between leading political heavyweights on topics such as the war in Iraq, presidential elections, conflict in the Middle East and the American economic crisis; and the monthly Executive Leadership Series, which brings a cross-section of influential leaders to campus.

YAF, which is not a college rating organization, recommends the Top Conservative College list to serve as a starting point for students researching conservative institutions.
