BeachTek DXA-SLR adapterXLR adapter with built-in preamplifiers. The DXA-SLR gives you everything you need to connect professional audio gear to your camera to capture superb sound. The DXA-SLR is very easy to set up and use. The Good/Peak signal indicators show the ideal input levels at a glance while the headphone output lets you monitor what you are recording. The enhanced AGC Disable feature works even better at controlling the wild swings of the Auto Gain Control that plague most cameras. This dramatically reduce the noise during quiet moments of recording allowing you to record two channels of clean audio. You can also monitor the playback audio from the camera. Fits neatly under any camera and can also be mounted to a tripod. Operates on one 9 volt battery.

HDSLR Camera Movement Strategies: When shooting motion pictures it's important to remember the motion part. Moving cameras add drama and production value that can bring your video to the next level. With the small size of the DSLR, once expensive and time-consuming methods are within your reach but what are the limitations and how do you plan for a moving camera shot? If you've ever wondered how to keep your handheld shots in-focus and steady this is your workshop. See how a slider can create the look of a dolly in half the time. We'll even show you how to do a 360º panoramic shot with a motorized pan/tilt head. Get your camera moving with these techniques.

Location Sound Recording with HDSLRs: Audio is often misunderstood with DSLRs. We'll explore three popular methods of recording audio with your DSLR. The shoe-mounted shotgun mic, XLR adaptors and double system. With each of these methods you can use professional wired and wireless microphones to achieve the same great audio that you've been recording on cameras before the DSLR. Each method will be fully set up so you can see how it's done allowing you to participate and take notes. If audio has been holding you back, this is the first step towards taking back the control of your videos.

The intensive, continuing education workshop will be led by Mr. Patrick Reis, a New York-based filmmaker and freelance shooter who began his career working with film before the digital video revolution exploded and began to dominate the indie market. Reis' experience spans over 10 years working in commercials and TV, with clients including ESPN, Fox Sports, Nickelodeon. Reis' love of storytelling has drawn him to more documentary and narrative projects.
