A unique networking opportunity with outstanding cinematographer StudentFilmmakers.com and StudentFilmmakers Magazine is proud to announce Conversations and Q&A with Ron Fortunato, ASC , which will take place in New York, New York on Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 10am – 12pm at the StudentFilmmakers Magazine Headquarters, 1133 Broadway, New York, NY, between 25th and 26th street. AWARDS AND NOMINATIONS: This two hour event will feature Mr. Fortunato as he shows selected clips from his film and television programs. These will include Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Nil by Mouth, and Gossip Girl. The event commences at 9:30am with morning coffee and networking opportunities, followed by a two hour Question and Answer session with Mr. Fortunato. Come and ask questions about his films and find out what it’s like working on a production set. An active member of the American Society of Cinematographers, Ron Fortunato, ASC has completed numerous top films in the industry. Some of these credits include Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Catch a Fire, Find Me Guilty, Sunset Strip, and The Weekend. Mr. Fortunato received an Emmy nomination for ‘Outstanding Cinematography’ for ‘100 Centre Street’. He was also nominated at the European Film Awards in the category of ‘Best Cinematographer’ for his film, Nil by Mouth. Ron received a Silver Frog Award for this film as well. Ron is currently directing the popular Gossip Girl television series, based on the book series by Cecily Von Ziegesar.
