To be a director of television or film and to tell compelling and memorable stories on screen a director must have clarity of vision and at the same time must be able to communicate that vision to a team of talented professionals. A director must be at once an artisan and an artist, a pragmatist and most of all a dreamer. Come and meet Myrl Schreibman, producer, director, book author, StudentFilmmakers Magazine contributing writer, and adjunct professor at the UCLA School of Theater Film and Television who has trained many of the dreamers in the industry today, including Justin Lin (ANNAPOLIS, FAST AND FURIOUS TOKYO DRIFT) Patricia Cardosa (REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES), Dan Angel (JEKYLL & HYDE), Maria Giese (HUNGER, WHEN SATURDAY COMES), Grace Lee (BARRIER DEVICE) and Joe Russo ( YOU ME AND DUPREE). Clearly Myrl Schreibman knows how to guide and train filmmakers who are at once knowledgeable and inspired as his wise advice is empowering to and for all directors, producers and even some writers.

The first 40 to pre-register for the workshop will receive a free copy of Myrl A, Schreibman's new book, The Film Director Prepares, A Practical Guide to Directing Film and Television, which contains a cd-rom with storyboard software, is the first interactive book on directing, and is receiving wonderful reviews as the book that new directors must have in their library.

In this two-hour workshop Myrl will be discussing the language directors use to tell their story on screen. His unique approach to understanding and working with actors, writers, and casting people will be discussed along with pre-visualization techniques that inspire the director’s vision.
