CHRISTOPHER BAFFA, ASC (Director of Photography) has worked in the motion picture industry for 19 years, following his 1990 graduation from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television. He began his career working in a variety of capacities within the electric and camera departments before achieving his first theatrical director of photography credit in 1994.
Selected by Daily Variety as one of the "Ten Cinematographers to Watch,” Christopher shares his time between television projects and feature films. He photographed Ryan Murphy's "Running with Scissors," the film adaptation of Augusten Burroughs' novel starring Annette Bening, Alec Baldwin, Gwenyth Paltrow, Brian Cox, and Joseph Fiennes, as well as the Warner Bros. comedy “Unaccompanied Minors,” starring Lewis Black. Christopher’s  other feature film credits include the hit comedy "Next Friday," starring Ice Cube, "Idle Hands," with Seth Green and Jessica Alba, and "Suicide Kings," starring Christopher Walken, Henry Thomas, and Denis Leary.

After photographing the pilot and first six seasons of FX Network’s Golden Globe winning drama “NIP/TUCK,” Christopher is now shooting the first season of GLEE for FOX, having photographed the GLEE pilot last fall. He also photographed the pilot episodes for TNT's original dramatic series "The Closer," starring Kyra Sedgwick, as well as the pilots “Eastwick”, “Pretty Handsome,” and “Odd Jobs.”  His additional television credits include two seasons of the Warner Bros.’ series "Popular," as well as ABC’s "The D.A." and "Bailey's Mistake”.

Christopher was awarded Variety’s Ten Cinematographers To Watch Award in 1999, and honored with an invitation to become a member of the American Society of Cinematographers in the spring of 2007.
Christopher was married in July of 2006, and resides in Los Angeles with his wife Azita and their son Mason.  In his off time, his hobbies include art collection, travel, and interior design study.

Cinematography is such a fascinating endeavor because it requires one to serve as equal part artist, psychiatrist, scientist, manager, and diplomat, all simultaneously."

“Motion pictures are magical in that they represent an art form that completely encompasses all the other art forms. In designing a cinematographic image or scene, elements of photography come together with those of theater, painting, music, and dance, as well as the literary realms of story, character, tone, and emotion. “
