When: October 6, 2018
Time: From 1pm -4pm and 5pm-8pm
This free half-day workshop is lead by visiting Floridian artist Barron Sherer. The workshop will explore the historical context of camera-less film techniques and will result in animations that will be projected on to the big screen (The Walls) as part of the opening night event for MIAMI / MIAMI. Participants will learn and apply historical methods of abstract filmmaking through direct manipulation: scratching and puncturing, painting and drawing, and the chemical alteration of “found footage” emulsion. Later, the group’s work will be digitally scanned and shared for accessibly resulting in the continuation of the MIAMI / MIAMI exchange internationally.
