In the Spotlight today is the 2nd Annual ScreenCraft Drama Script Competition, seeking exceptional dramatic screenplays that will be read by industry professionals with a proven track record for working on successful dramatic projects. Feature film dramas drive deep into the heart of what it means to be human, expressing universal themes with nuanced complexity. ScreenCraft’s carefully selected jury is looking for great stories with original voices and honest emotion.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a $1,000 USD cash award and personal introductions to producers, managers, agents and studio executives. Additionally, the top finalists will be circulated to ScreenCraft’s vetted network of over 60 producers, studio executives, managers, and agents. Past ScreenCraft winners have optioned their projects and signed with top representatives at top Hollywood companies including WME, CAA, 3Arts Entertainment, Anonymous Content, Paradigm Talent Agency, ICM, Bellevue Productions Zero Gravity Management, Kaplan/Perrone and many more.
Screenplays that make the final round of judging will be reviewed by a prestigious jury of four leading industry professionals: Sara Nestor, Verve Talent and Literary Agency, Nestor is the literary agent to Chris Bergoch who wrote the critically acclaimed filmThe Florida Project; Richard Ruiz, Creative Executive at Fox Searchlight, the production company synonymous with prestige dramas includingThree Billboards Outside of Ebbing, MissouriandThe Wrestler; George Heller, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, the company behind such renowned Hollywood talent as Amy Adams, Brad Pitt, and Charlie Hunnam; and Melissa Breaux, Management 360, Breaux manages actors, writers and directors behind such projects as The Spectacular NowandBernie.
