The Omni Intermedia Awards

The Omni Awards were created to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding media production in a variety of fields. Each of these fields are converging into an interactive, multi-level production to create a high impact presentation.

Eligibility

Entries must have been completed within the last 3 years. Television entries must have been aired on cable or broadcast television.

We accept international entries as well as those produced in the United States. To date, we have received entries from all 50 States in the US, and over 30 countries from around the world.

You may enter one project in multiple categories as long as you complete a form and send the $50 entry fee for each category entered. You do not need to send additional tapes/disks.

Media

Video: Non-broadcast television/video
Television: Broadcast or cable television
Film: Any project created primarily using film
Radio: Any audio production aired on a radio station
Animation: 2D or 3D animated project
Interactive Multimedia: Interactive non-Internet productions
Internet: Any project accessible from the Internet


Categories

The two main areas are General and Craft. The general categories include a list of typical types of projects such as educational, commercial, or internal communication. Craft categories relate to specific elements of a production such as lighting, audio, cinematography, or programming.

You may choose as many categories that you wish. Each category selection carries a $50 entry fee. To learn more about the categories under which you may submit your entries, go to our category description page.

Fees

The non-refundable entry fee for each submission is $50. (Late entries must include an extra $10 late fee.) This fee must be paid in U. S. dollars. (Internationl entries, please include an extra $15 fee with wire transfers.) Checks must accompany the entry and must be made payable to: Omni Awards. This system allows a lower entry fee so that you can submit more projects for consideration.

We now accept Visa and Mastercard.

For an additional fee, all award winners may purchase an award.


Entry Format

All video, television, film and animation entries must be on a BetaSP or VHS video tape in NTSC format. Radio programs/commercials must be entered on cassette or CD. Interactive entries may be submitted on a CD-Rom, DVD or on the Internet.

Entries will not be returned.

Each entry must have a duplicate entry form taped to the video or CD-Rom box.


Judging the Entries

Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges from some of the top production companies in the world. Entries will be scored on a ten point scale. Entries judged from 7.5-8.5 will be bronze winners, 8.5-9.5 will be silver winners, and entries judged from 9.5-10 will be gold winners.


The Omni

Every gold, silver and bronze winners will receive a certificate of accomplishment..

For an additional fee, all award winners may purchase an Omni Statuette. The Omni Award stands 10" high and is made of matte black foxite with a pewter cast Omni figure. Duplicate awards, certificates and lapel pins are available at an additional charge. All winners are notified by mail.


Publicity

All winners will receive publicity information to release to their local media. Winners have the right to display the Omni logo in conjunction with their company. Winners will have access to the Omni Awards Winner's Circle for special downloads of forms and press releases.
