(Gardena, CA) - The Reality of Truth, the upcoming documentary that follows social filmmaker Mike Zappy Zapolin, Deepak Chopra and friends as they explore the transcendence behind the truth, plans to follow the trail blazed by Foster Gambles monumental film Thrive, in both viral awareness and delivery. And together, the filmmakers seek to help others reach a worldwide audience through the accessibility of the digital realm, while still remaining profitable.

Foster shares the same idea as me and Deepak that these conscious-based films have to get made, said Zappy. In the past it was hard to make money from creating these films because marketing costs were extremely high and distribution channels were very limited. Now, with the whole world sharing information through the Internet, there are ways to tap into a much broader audience and still be economically viable, and thats something we want to teach other filmmakers how to do.

The Reality of Truth is a call to the common question, What is reality? Set for release in summer 2012, the film follows Zappys transcendence past his Internet success and into a world where spirituality, religion and psychedelics deliver potent truths that could unlock the human potential.

Much like Foster Gamble, who rejected his position as heir to the Proctor & Gamble corporate fortune to find the deeper meaning of life, Zappy and Deepak invite their audience to see the world from a fresh perspective.

Gambles Thrive: What on Earth Will it Take? was released on 11/11/11 after seven years and $7 million spent on production. Gamble originally offered Thrive for viewing and gifting on his website http://www.thrivemovement.com, and has since done so well that he is now offering it for free, supporting the ongoing awareness campaign by selling DVDs to people who would like to own their own copy.

This model allows even more people to see the movie, and the small percent who purchase the DVD help to underwrite the free views. What Gamble stumbled upon was a whole new model for virally marketing a movie, distributing it directly to consumers, and in doing so, has created a strong base of socially conscious viewers.

My main goal for Thrive has always been to reach as many people as possible, said Gamble. What I realized early on was that people dont really care whos distributing the movie, they would rather pay something small like $5 to watch it directly from the creator. By doing this I was able to control my own content and get the important information out to millions more people.

After seeing Thrive and being very impressed, Zappy and his team reached out to Foster Gamble to ask him for an interview on the subject of breaking through to another reality. While Zappy was interviewing Foster Gamble for his film "The Reality Of Truth," they realized they had the same goal of being able to mentor other filmmakers to be able to make socially conscious films, using the best practices of independently marketing and distributing a film.

The pair are laying the foundation for being able to help other filmmakers, from those early on in their creative process to veterans looking for ways to be profitable, by mentoring them on the best practices for distribution and creating a collective database of interested audience members.

We have a very specific but very large niche of people that are interested in socially conscious films, said Zappy. The good thing is, those people who are interested in one movie will probably be interested in another and we can help each other spread awareness.

According to Zappy, the keys to success for conscious-based films lie within the digital and social media world. And with the help of those who have been through it all before, filmmakers can open the doors to organic awareness and unprecedented growth.
