(New York, NY) - 45 days ago, Skip Brevis challenged himself to create a daily video record of music history. His first recording, "God Bless the Child", in honor of Billie Holiday��s April 7th birthday, marked the beginning of the series.

Since that initial tribute, Skip has presented a new song, a new shirt, a new random item displayed on the music stand and a new blog post every single day at http://www.skipbrevis.com as part of his yearlong event. Today, marking the 45th day of videos, Skip offers a Fats Waller mashup of "Jitterbug Waltz" & "Ain't Misbehavin'", a nod to the jazz pianist & composer��s May 21st birthday.

Recent videos on the Today in Music blog include Skip��s renditions of "Piano Man", "Born to Be Wild", "Bandstand Boogie", "I Shot the Sheriff", "When a Man Loves a Woman", "Johnny B Goode", "Respect" and "Let it Be", to name a few. His accompanying thoughts, stories and recollections are taken from his years of experience musical directing, recording, and playing piano in and around New York City with some of the best in the business.

The first 45 days of the Today in Music series saw special guests such as Casey Breves (Skip��s son and world class vocalist currently singing with Chanticleer) join him on "If I Had a Hammer", guitarist and friend John Malino (currently appearing in Feinstein��s Jazz Series) joining in on "The Ballad of Jed Clampett / Petticoat Junction", and YouTube recording artist Sam Tsui sitting in on Donna Summer��s "Last Dance."

Over the next few months, Skip will present songs from a wide variety of musical styles �C jazz, rock, pop, R&B, folk and classical �C and will have new surprise special guests and headliners joining his Today in Music sessions.

��I��ve got many stories to tell and many songs to sing,�� Skip says. Laughing, he adds, ��Keep an eye on those random music stand items in the videos. They may end up having some rhyme and reason after all.��

SKIP BREVIS is a busy New York City producer, arranger, musical director, composer, pianist and consultant working with top artists in theater, music and film. He co-created, arranged, and musical directed the original production of "Beehive, the 60��s Musical." Other original works include "Winner Take All (A Rock Opera)" which premiered at the 2011 NY International Fringe Festival, and "Showdown!", an interactive Motown American Idol spoof now in its fourth year in Europe and the Mediterranean. Skip is currently in the studio recording his original rootsy rock project, Willie & the Swagga.
