"I love women! No drugs, no alcohol. Just pure unadulterated love..."These are the words of a tormented man, David Brown, in the multi award-winning UK indie psychodrama from writer, director and producer, Stephen Lloyd Jackson.

The film tells the story of a young, successful hedge fund manager, whom contracts HIV after leading a promiscuous life style with women. He is informed of the possibility that his unborn child could also be infected and so too the child’s mother, his long-term fiancée, Carla.

Through an intense therapy session with his psychiatrist, David takes us on a pernicious journey that starts twelve months prior: the women, the sex and the demons.

The film stars Lonyo Engele as David Brown, (DJ to the stars and singer of smash hit 'Summer Of Love' in the year 2000). Also starring is Isaura Barbe-Brown as Carla Mensah and Roxanne. The film co-stars Brigitte Millar as ice cold psychiatrist Amelia Holland and Stephen Samuel Jackson Jnr as 'Young David.'

This is a provocative and harrowing tale, depicting the ugly side of love. The film is beautifully shot by Greek cinematographer Olympia Mytilinaiou. Although there was a script, the performances were mainly improvised. This enhances the film's raw style and the authenticity of this human tragic story.

Jackson's delivery is at times structured and adopts similarities from the horror and thriller genre. He uses numerous hand held shots which add an artistic veil to the film.

‘David Is Dying’ is the first slate of a trilogy of films by Jackson and SAR Productions in which they will endeavour to maintain an independent spirit. The film has a cast consisting of 95% British Afro/Caribbean actors and tells a story which provides an alternative perspective of London’s black community than that previously explored in mainstream cinema. It's HIV theme is a backdrop to David's neurotic actions whereby his possessiveness and controlling behaviour are the driving force throughout the film.

David Is Dying has screened in over 21 international film festivals. The film has scooped over 7 film festival awards and a 'Focus on Filmmakers Honoree' for Jackson at the 36th Cleveland International Film Festival.

David Is Dying will be available for download/streaming to all internet platforms from 4th July 2012 from the SAR Movie Channel. It will also be available to purchase on dvd form 16th July 2012.
