At a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Michael Bloomberg welcomed “Minuto Para Ganar” – MundoFox’s game show – as the first Spanish-language production to be a part of the City’s “Made in NY” initiative, which supports and encourages television and film productions that shoot the majority of their projects in New York City. The ceremony, which took place at the show’s new home on the Upper West Side, also included host Marco Antonio Regil and Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver.

“We are thrilled to welcome ‘Minuto Para Ganar’ to the City,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “As the first ‘Made in NY’ Spanish-language production, MundoFox is demonstrating a commitment to bringing new job opportunities to New Yorkers and, like so many others, investing in television in New York ¡Bienvenidos a Nueva York!”

“Minuto Para Ganar” will feature the “Made in NY” logo in its credits and be part of the “Made in NY” Marketing Credit, which provides qualified productions with free, co-branded advertising in City subways and bus shelters.

Produced by Shine Latino, the second season of “Minuto Para Ganar” will feature a new round of contestants – each vying for a chance to win up to $100,000 in a series of ten different challenges with increasing levels of difficulty. Season 2 promises new and exciting minute-long challenges using common everyday objects in unconventional ways that will excite and surprise audiences alike.

The efforts to bring “Minuto Para Ganar” to the City are part of the Latin Media and Entertainment Commission, part of the Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment. The Latin Media and Entertainment Commission advises the City of New York on business development and retention strategies for the Latin media and entertainment industry, aims to expand Latin productions, media businesses and jobs in New York City.
