The Manhattan Film Institute will be launching its first annual Summer Programs for actors, writers and filmmakers to be held in Greenport, New York. Founders Tony Spiridakis, and Jeff McCracken have announced a partnership with Peconic Landing, who will provide classroom space on its 30-acre grounds in the Arts and Cultural Center as well as in the stunning historic landmark building, Brecknock Hall.

There is a two-week camp for Teen Directors and Teen Actors as well as a one week Retreat for professional actors and a one week retreat for aspiring writers . The program expects to attract students nationally and internationally. This is a boutique conservatory with a world class faculty. Our faculty members are not only inspired educators, but they have worked at the highest level in the industry, and, in the discipline that they are teaching.

Faculty members and Guest Artists including academy award nominated actor Chazz Palminteri; Sundance Winner, writer Ben York Jones; Directory, Tony Goldwyn and Actor Joe Pantoliano will be screening films at Peconic Landing for our students, for the residents and for the public followed by an opportunity to meet the artists.

Tony Spiridakis points out, "several of our faculty have roots here on the Northfork. I have been a summer resident of Southold and now Orient for more than 50 years and faculty members , Bob Krakower and Wendy Makkena own a home in Southold. We see a deep connection between the esoteric beauty of this area and film. In addition, bringing the arts to the North Fork is a nice complement to the Vineyard activities that now exist. It is our desire to house our Institute’s summer programs here for many years to come".
