On the heels of Angelina Jolie’s breaking news about her decision to pursue a preventative double mastectomy, the award-winning, provocative, raw and touching documentary BEAUTY AND THE BREAST gives viewers a behind the scenes look at nine female survivors coping with the harsh realities of breast cancer as they aim to demystify the disease and blossom in the face of adversity, out this October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sweeping up awards at film festivals around the world, BEAUTY AND THE BREAST sets out to empower and inspire women to feel feminine and sexy in their own skin.

Having worked with Academy Award winning director Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy), Academy Award nominated director/producer Ridley Scott and Golden Globe award winning producer Tony Scott while also collaborating with Hollywood’s A-listers including Aidan Quinn, Donald Sutherland and Sir Ben Kingsley, actress and first-time director Liliana Komorowska tapped into her experiences with such highly-respected Hollywood legends to create this intimate portrait of the devastating realities of breast cancer. The full-length documentary details the complexities of the various stages of the disease; following the patients through their spiritual, physical and emotional transformations. These women bare their souls and scars, while striving to dismiss society’s general perception of feminine beauty and adapt to living with their mutilated figures, maintaining strength, grace and pride. Beauty and the Breast is not only invaluable as a testament to human resilience, but also proves that it’s possible to reach timeless wisdom in the face of adversity.

In addition to her tireless efforts to shed light on breast cancer and its devastating effects, Komorowska is respected for the determined work of her Foundation Liliana Komorowska for the Arts in promoting her Polish cultural heritage in America. She continues her acting career in French, Polish and English while living with her husband and two children in Montreal, Canada.
