Love Hope Strength and World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation Partner to Help Cancer Patients and Families

posted Jul 2, 2013, 10:06

Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation to raise awareness for the award-winning feature film, Ways To Live Forever. LHS, founded in 2007 with the principle of fighting cancer through music, now turns its focus to film with its support of the new feature opening theatrically across the US beginning July 19, 2013. Based on the popular children’s novel by British author Sally Nicholls, a spunky 12-year-old leukemia patient named Sam and his best friend Felix set out to achieve their dreams and in the process learn to appreciate family, friends, and the oddities of life, leaving viewers both uplifted and inspired.

"Love Hope Strength Foundation is proud to stand beside World Wide Pictures Corporation as an ally in the battle against cancer", says co-founder and musician Mike Peters. "The film evokes everything that we stand for at Love Hope Strength and shows the courage and humanity that can be found by all who are prepared to look cancer in the eye and say 'I will not give up, give way, or give in.' Proceeds from the film will be used to fund our international 'Get On The List' marrow donor campaign at rock concerts, music and film festivals. Over the last three years LHS has attracted some 37,000 people to engage in the fight against cancer by signing up for the donor registry with over 500 going on to become potential life savers for the likes of people depicted in 'Ways To Live Forever'"

Ways To Live Forever stars critically acclaimed actors Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line, The Truth About Cats & Dogs), Greta Scacchi (The Player, Emma), Robbie Kay (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Alex Etel (The Water Horse), Emilia Fox (Pride And Prejudice - BBC), and Ella Purnell (Intruders, Never Let Me Go). The growing list of international awards includes: Best Feature Film from the European Children’s Film Association, Best Picture at the Bordeaux International Festival of Women in Cinema, the Heartland Film Festival Audience Award, and the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival’s Adult Jury Prize. Additionally, nationally-renowned book publisher Scholastic has issued Nicholls’ best-selling novel as an enhanced eBook and will re-release a paperback version to coincide with the film’s North American theatrical release.

“We are excited and honored to be working with Love Hope Strength to help raise awareness for pediatric blood cancers around the world,” states Paul D. Hancock, President and CEO of World Wide. “We hope that through our mutual efforts, Ways To Live Forever can also increase funding for patient treatment and support; in addition to raising awareness, we are directly donating a portion of box office proceeds toward these goals.”

Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS),, is the world’s leading rock-and-roll cancer foundation, dedicated to saving the lives of people with cancer one concert at a time. LHS was founded in 2007 by leukemia survivors Mike Peters (of the Welsh band The Alarm) and James Chippendale (president of Doodson Insurance Brokerage).

Through their partnership with DKMS (the world’s largest bone marrow registry), LHS frequently spearheads bone marrow drives at concerts and major musical events like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits. LHS has added over 32,000 people to the international bone marrow database and has found over 465 potential life saving matches for patients in need of bone marrow transplants.

Rather than funding cancer research, LHS focuses on building and supporting cancer centers around the world, boosting awareness of global cancer needs and expanding international bone marrow databases. One of LHS’s many accomplishments includes purchasing Nepal’s first mammography and internal radiation machines and funding the construction of the first children’s cancer center in Tanzania.

LHS primarily raises its funds through musical charged treks to majestic sites like Mt. Everest, Mt. Fuji and Machu Picchu. Headquartered in Denver, LHS now has chapters in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Founded in 1977, World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation ( is a diversified company with shareholders throughout the world, primarily involved in the development, financing, production and distribution of feature films, documentaries, short subjects, industrials and television productions. World Wide’s industry executives and board members have produced, distributed and consulted on a wide variety of film and television projects, earning Academy awards, Emmy awards, and prizes from international film festivals.
