Director Kathryn Bigelow ('81 SOA) has completed her newest feature, Zero Dark Thirty, written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker).

The film follows the ten year chase for Osama Bin Laden and his subsequent capture and death by a Navy SEAL team in May 2011.

Zero Dark Thirty features an all-star cast including Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong, and James Gandolfini.

Early reviews have heralded oscar buzz for the 2013 Academy Awards.

Time Magazine critic Richard Corliss writes, "[Zero Dark Thirty] dramatizes a true-life international adventure with CIA agents as heroes....this is movie journalism that snap and stings, that purifies a decades clamor and clutter into narrative clarity, with a salutary kick."

Todd McCarthy from the Hollywood Reporter states, "Zero Dark Thirty could well be the most impressive film Bigelow has made, as well as possibly her most personal..."

The New York Film Critics Circle has awarded Zero Dark Thirty with Best Picture, Best Director Award for Bigelow's vision, and the Best Cinematographer Award to Bigelow's collaborator, Greig Fraser. This triumph marks the fourth female win for Best Director in the ceremony's history and Bigelow's second NYFCC win.

Zero Dark Thirty opens wide January 11, 2013.

Zero Dark Thirty has been nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. The 70th annual awards ceremony will take place on January 13, 2013.
