(Beijing, China) - Chinese Film Consulting of Beijing has announced a new venture to serve as a liaison to help American and European film companies to produce and market films in China.

Chinese Film Consulting (CFC) provides insider status, helping filmmakers navigate the political and cultural terrain of China, as well as the red tape involved. Through its connections, CFC is able to provide screenplays to Chinese producers looking for Hollywood products that can be adapted to Chinese locations, as well as finding appropriate themes in a variety of genres.

CFC offers the services of renowned Chinese film authority Su Mu, who is a film scholar, author and professor at the Beijing Film Academy (BFA). Professor Su was named Outstanding Young Backbone Teacher of Beijing Colleges and Universities, Distinguished Visiting Scholar of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and jury president for the Jin Zi Award of the BFA. His books include Glory, New Century New Movie and Sun Boy.

CFC is currently working with Chinese filmmakers and studios to recruit talent from Hollywood and around the world to visit China and take Chinese films to the next level. One of the talented American directors associated with the website is Ellen R. Green, who has been a Hollywood producer and screenwriter for 30 years. Her feature film credits include Disneys Baby, SpaceCamp, The Seventh Sign, Bless the Child, as well as Three Wishes, which she co-produced. Green is also press manager for the U.S. firm Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Co, LLC.

China has just increased the quota on U.S. films allowed to be imported for distribution annually from 20 to 34 movies, and an additional 40 independent films will also be allowed. The new agreement affords foreign filmmakers a larger share of the box office, almost doubling the figure from 13 percent to 25 percent.

Chinese Film Consulting was founded to provide assistance for companies interested in the sale of motion pictures to and from China, film distribution and marketing throughout the country, and joint ventures and film production within the Chinese mainland.
