Hector Luis Bustamante's HELU Films Entertainment Presents 'Caribe Road'

(LOS ANGELES, CA) Hector Luis Bustamante, the well-known award- winning actor who co-starred opposite Bruce Willis in the popular film Hostage, brings us "Caribe Road," the groundbreaking new web television series, produced by Bustamante's HELU Films Entertainment. "Caribe Road" is the story of a US Special Forces operative who becomes a marked man after tangling with the world's most wanted terrorist and is searching to find his kidnapped daughter. "Caribe Road" launches internet-wide as of November 11, 2011 with preview episodes 1-5, series trailer and a special 9/11 tribute episode available on http://www.cariberoad.com.

"Caribe Road" is co-directed by Alex O. Gaynor (Tron : Legacy, Wid Winner and the Slipstream, and the forthcoming Monster Slayer) and Jeremy Rush (John Doe and the Anti, No Road To Follow), who met while studying filmmaking at Chapman University under the guidance of Director John Badham (War Games, Heroes) and Mark Rossman (Lizzie McGuire). Alex Gaynor and Jeremy Rush came together as a production team on their indie hit film "'Wid Winner and the Slipstream" which came out last year.

"Caribe Road" is written by Joseph E Sheridan (Entertainment Tonight, The Ellen Show). In the series a US Special Forces commander, (Hector Bustamante), who is hell bent on starting a new life away from the military after a covert mission goes terribly wrong. But first, under the orders of the President of the United States, Caribe must accept the command of a new elite combat unit called SFT1 [Special Forces Team One]. All the while Caribe is desperately searching for a way to locate the terrorist who kidnapped his daughter.

Series executive producer Louise Wu (The Ellen Show, Warner Bros) and Hector Bustamante (CBS's The Agency, Without A Trace, Monk) are producing the web series with an eye towards placement on a major cable network similar to the success of "Sanctuary" (Syfy) which started life as a ground breaking web series.

"We see tremendous potential with the 'Caribe Road' series," said EP Louise Wu. "We are committing to producing the series as we feel there is a real demand for a show of this caliber - a show dedicated to the brave men and women currently putting themselves in harm's way the world over to keep our nation safe. We are excited to take the reins of the series and deliver real quality television."

In the summer of 2011, "Caribe Road" series producers proudly announced the following Talent as season regulars - Hector Luis Bustamante (The Shield, Southland, Bones) as Male Lead Mark Caribe, Jeannie Bolet (All My Children) as Ms Honeycutt, Ransford Doherty (The Closer) as James 'The Bomber' Crews, Marlene Forte (Star Trek) as LAPD Captain Ana Garcia, Don R. Williams (The OC) as the Secretary of Defense, Jennifer Fields (K-Town) as Ashley Belle, and Alina Herrera (Off The Map) as Alina Caribe.

As a project with a purpose, "Caribe Road" is dedicated to the brave men and women who put themselves in harm's way everyday to make our world and our Nation a better, safer place to live. A special 9/11 tribute episode was released honoring all the innocent lives lost that day, all our fallen heroes, and our way of remembering all the men and women in uniform and their families for their immeasurable sacrifice.

HECTOR LUIS BUSTAMANTE (Creator / Producer / Male Lead)
Bustamante made his first major TV appearance on CBS' The Agency, playing the head of the Colombian police. Within weeks he landed his second role in NYPD Blue opposite Dennis Franz and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. In the spring of 2003 Bustamante resigned from his security job and moved to Los Angeles. In 2009, he won the Best Actor award for his role in LMN's Little Girl Lost against Benjamin Bratt and James Roday at THE IMAGEN Awards. Since then his list of TV credits includes Southland, 24, Crossing Jordan, Without A Trace, Monk, and films such as Hostage opposite Bruce Willis and Sueño opposite John Leguizamo.

ALEX O. GAYNOR (Director/Producer)
Alex was offered feature work as a cinematographer and camera operator and left Chapman to work professionally in Los Angeles. In 2008, he returned to Chapman to begin principal photography on his master's thesis film "Wid Winner & the Slipstream" which won numerous awards.

Alex currently lives in Los Angeles and works as a writer, director, gaffer and cinematographer on film, television, commercials, web series and video games. Alex also serves as a summer professor at the prestigious Idyllwild School of the Arts where he teaches directing and cinematography.

JEREMY RUSH (Director)
Jeremy's first film "John Doe and the Anti" premiered at the 2006 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (France), went on to screen at 10 other film festivals, won a Best Debut Film award, and screened at the famous ArcLight Theater in Hollywood during the 2006 Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.

Commercial directing credits include both spec and national commercials. Writing experience spans from feature film screenplays to commercials to internet content. Jeremy's next film "No Road To Follow", is a postapocalyptic survival story, due for release late 2011.

JOSEPH E SHERIDAN (Writer)
He started his career in television with internships at KQED-TV's This Week in Northern California and Entertainment Tonight. Following graduation, he returned to "Entertainment Tonight" before taking a position in Post Production at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" while writing on the side. After seeing some of his written work, he eventually transitioned from his post position at The Ellen Show to Website Writer which led to two Emmy nominations. Now he is writing for film, television, and the web, including the highly anticipated new action series, "Caribe Road."

LOUISE WU (Producer)
After graduating Santa Clara University, Louise started at the top talent agency ICM before going into production at Emmy Award winning talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. While at the show, Louise became a regular on camera when Ellen prepped Louise for the Miss California USA title. Her passion lies behind the scenes and currently works in development at Warner Brothers and as the executive producer of the groundbreaking new action series, Caribe Road. Louise is a former professional dancer and holds the titles for Miss San Francisco USA and Miss Asian America where she proudly represents her Asian heritage.
