(Los Angeles, CA) - Home entertainment industry vet, David Rand has launched Grand Entertainment Group (GEG), a premium, multi-platform distributor and content development company based in Los Angeles. With over 25 years of experience, Mr. Rand is known best for his leadership at Lions Gate, THINKFilm, Image Entertainment and Maya Entertainment.

Rands management team includes former Image Entertainment sales executive Richard Buchalter and former VP of Marketing at Maya Entertainment, Gina Gilardi, who together boast decades of senior level marketing experience as GEGs new VP of Sales and VP of Marketing.

Grand Entertainment Group is a complete destination for programming. GEG will distribute DVD, digital, streaming, TV and limited theatricals, for all types of Independent films including features, documentaries, genre films, children's programming and more. I have always wanted to launch my own company, states CEO/President, David Rand. For most of my 25 year career I have been starting new ventures or helping launch new companies. The timing is perfect for Grand; the market for Indie films is still very strong especially since the bigger players are not interested unless it has a big budget or big stars. The consumer still wants to see something new and different and to be honest something that has a little different formula than the usual fair of films in the market.

What makes Grand stand out above the rest? As an Indie film provider, Grand is committed to exceeding the expectations of the producers of their films; measuring success in the ability to produce rewarding and quality releases. Grand Entertainment is giving Independent filmmakers and their films the platform they deserve, to get their film in the hands of the consumers. With direct relationships with notable retailers and several new partnership developments, Grand Entertainment is set to make their mark as a top notch distributor for independent films.

Between myself, David and Gina we have over 75 years combined in the business, states Vice President of Sales Richard Buchalter. Each of us have our unique strengths, coupled with a proven track record of creating highly profitable revenue generating programs, we are confident that Grand Entertainment will be the premiere destination for Indie filmmakers around the world.

Grands first two films will hit the streets on August 14, 2012, and from there the company plans on rolling out two to five films per month; each genre film featuring a stellar cast, and compelling box art. GEG is currently focusing on domestic distribution for 2012, however they will be launching in to the international marketplace in 2013.
