(Providence, RI) - Champions of the Deep, a new family-adventure film shot in Rhode Island, premieres in New England theaters in August, before rolling out to cities across the country this Fall.

Champions of the Deep emphasizes the importance of stewardship of the oceans and an overall message of perseverance despite all adversities. The film, starring world-renowned youth martial artists Tyler Weaver Jr. Dayna Huor & Caitlin Dechelle was filmed on Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, R.I. and several other Rhode Island locations.

The action and adventure in this film will thrill all audiences, and the primary messageNever Give Upwill resonate deeply with all who see it, said Champions of the Deep director Baxter Churchville. Having been shot in Southern New England, it is befitting that this film make its world premiere at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, which will serve as a major milestone as we take the film nationally.

Champions of the Deep is produced by Don Rodrigues and features the choreography of Christine Bannon-Rodrigues, both of whom bring extensive championship-level martial arts experience to the film. Bannon-Rodriguess stunt work has been featured in Hollywood blockbuster titles like Underdog, Batman & Robin and The Next Karate Kid, and her martial arts stunt design expertise is evident in Champions of the Deeps high-energy fight sequences.

Champions of the Deep will premiere in Providence, R.I. in August and open for a limited run at the Providence Place 16 Cinemas on Friday, Aug. 10, after which it will roll out to additional theaters nationally.
