Entertaining features, documentaries, and shorts from around the globe.

Now in its 28th year, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival presents programming in Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Weston, Sunrise, Pompano Beach, Delray Beach, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, St Augustine, Amelia island and on Grand Bahama Island.  Cinema Paradiso - Lauderdale is our year-round arthouse theatre with 230 stadium seats and ability to show practically every format from 35mm, to DCP, HDCam, DigiBeta, BetaSP, BluRay and DVD.  CP-L has a beautiful canopied courtyard and a full bar.  It is available for rental either with the Cinema or by itself.  Cinema Paradiso - Hollywood located at 2008 Hollywood Boulevard, will have its Grand Opening in September 2013.  The 82 seat digital cinema will also feature a full bar with lobby and sidewalk cafe.

The 28th FLIFF will run October 18 - November 11, 2013.  The Opening Night Party will take place at Steve Savor's waterfront mansion, Villa de Palma.  FLIFF On-Location: Grand Bahama Island begins October 30 with a cruise from Palm Beach to GBI aboard the Bahamas Celebration.  Everyone gets their own cabin and the dining is fabulous!  We dock the morning of October 31 and are taken by limo to Pelican Bay Resort (where the filmmakers stay and most of the films are shown).  Opening Night takes place that evening at Taino Beach and the theme is Junkanoo!

About The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival

Founded in 1986 as the Greater Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. In 1989, the name was legally changed to Broward County Film Society, reflecting a membership base and year-round presence.  In 1991, we added a dba of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.

In 1998, Broward County asked FLIFF to become a co-tenant with The Vinnette Carroll Repertory Company in the lease of The Vinnette Carroll Theatre.  Ms. Carroll passed away in 2002, and FLIFF became the sole tenant at that time.

Now in its 26th year, The Film Society has come a long way since its roots of being a vagabond organization to one of five Major Cultural Institutions of Broward County.
