The festival accepts documentary motion pictures with a running time of more than 40 minutes. Now in its 16th year, IDA's DocuWeeks™ is a public theatrical exhibition serving to qualify outstanding new feature and short documentaries for Academy Award® consideration. Each year, they are proud to see films nominated from their curated showcase. Since its inception, 28 films from DocuWeeks™ have been nominated for an Academy Award® with 7 winning the Oscar®.
