(Chattanooga, TN) The Chattanooga Film Society will host a panel discussion this Thursday at the Downtown Chattanooga YMCA beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the topic of creative financing for independent films. The Y is located at 301 W. 6th St.

The panel will feature three locally-based film industry insiders who will share their experiences and answer any questions about techniques that they have utilized to raise funds for their film projects. The panelists are Drew Belz, local filmmaker and partner at Fancy Rhino; Jeff Burr, a seasoned Hollywood feature film director and indie film producer; and Dylan Kussman, an accomplished Hollywood actor who writes and produces the hit web series "The Steps."

"This will be an enriching evening for anyone who has ever been interested in doing a film or video project but does not know where to begin to look for financing. We are very fortunate to have three talented and established filmmakers right here in Chattanooga who are willing to share their secrets," CFS co-founder and President Dave Porfiri said.

The event is a quarterly meeting of the Chattanooga Film Society, a local non-profit dedicated to promoting the growth of film culture and the professional film industry in the Southeast Tennessee region. It is free to current CFS members, and $5 for guests. New members may join at the door or on-line at the CFS website. Networking time will be scheduled before and after the panel discussion and attendees are encouraged to come prepared with questions for the filmmakers.
