Countdown with A.O. Scott and Michael Phillips Begins Weekend of October 24th.

(Burbank, CA) At the Movies announced today that film critics A.O. (Tony) Scott of the The New York Times and Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune will announce their individual top ten lists of films deemed "best of the decade." For ten consecutive weeks beginning the weekend of October 24th, Scott and Phillips will each reveal and discuss a film that falls into this unprecedented category. The countdown will culminate the weekend of December 26th when the co-hosts reveal their individual number one picks.

With over 5,000 movies produced over the last ten years, no genre is off limits as Scott and Phillips' picks will be an assortment of dramas, comedies, action-adventure films and children's titles. Although many have been recognized with awards and have achieved commercial success, others may not be as well known and fall into the category of independent fare.

"It's exciting, as well as a little overwhelming, to step back and survey the landscape for this special At The Movies feature," said A.O. Scott. "The ten I came up with reflect not only my own taste, but the great bounty and variety that has defined movies in the first decade of the 21st century," he continued.

"Finding the filmmakers, and the films, that will stand the test of time -- that's the challenge and the fun in this endeavor," commented Michael Phillips. "Some are legends; some, unknowns and all of them have changed the way I see the world, and expanded my idea of what's possible on screen," he continued.

A few of the films that will be included in Scott and Phillips' individual top ten are Academy Award-winning "Million Dollar Baby," the box-office blockbuster "Minority Report," and the computer-animated hit "WALL-E."

In addition, At the Movies viewers will be able to go to the show's website, AtTheMoviesTV.com or to Twitter.com/AtTheMoviesTV, and nominate films for their own top ten best of the decade list. The viewer ranking will be updated on a weekly basis and the results will be announced by Scott and Phillips during the December 26th broadcast.
