(San Francisco, CA) - Bay Area composer Wendy Loomis who has released 7 CDs of jazz, classical, new age, and world beat music has turned her focus to fusing the classiness of her piano lines with the energy of pop songs. Despite the plethora of drum machine popping competition, Wendys sweet piano version of Ushers song Climax made it into the top 6% of IndabaMusics global remix contest. Her latest piano remix is of Settle Down by New Zealand singer Kimbra. The jazzy, slightly husky vocals of this young singer sparkle surrounded by Loomis percussive chords and lyrical weavings.

Fans can vote for Wendys remix by visiting her website or going to IndabaMusic.com where her submission is listed under her label name COPUS.

Wendy Loomis has won ASCAP awards for composition five times; had her Phoenix Rising songs nominated for Hollywood Music and Media Awards; and received accolades for her compositions with rap/jazz/fusion ensemble COPUS. Most recently, Ms. Loomis had one of her compositions (Egyptian Fantasy) created with Phoenix Rising flutist Monica Williams selected to be included in the soundtrack of the documentary film We Are Egypt: The Story Behind the Revolution by director Lillie Paquette.

Wendy is co-owner of independent music label COPUS with poet Royal Kent. COPUS is an acronym for "Creation Of Peace Under Stars." The ensemble has performed in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, and Western Massachusetts. COPUS could become legendary if given the opportunity to thrive! -Michael Allison, MusicDish.com.

Wendy has released 7 CDs of her original compositions for solo piano, duos, small groups, and bands. Her music has been included in many compilations and independent films. Ms. Loomis was commissioned to create works several times for Flock of Flutes, a Walnut Creek-based flute ensemble. Most recently they performed East West Suite which featured Ms. Jenny Lim on guzheng (Chinese stringed instrument).
