Prodigy Talent Group, announces Australian film actor Paul Ashton, ("Secret Life Of Us," "Academy") stars as 'Gregory von Gearhart', a narcissistic sociopath in "Serial Buddies," the indie comedy feature film produced by Maria Menounos ("Access Hollywood," "TODAY Show") and written and directed by Keven Undergaro ("Land Of Merry Misfits," Tribeca Film Festival).

(Los Angeles, CA) Paul Ashton, known for his strong character depictions, has been likened to the great Robert Downey Jr. in his raw talent. In a rare movie event, "Serial Buddies" brings Ashton together with the legendary Christopher Lloyd ("Back to the Future").

The stellar cast is also comprised of Christopher McDonald, David Proval, Artie Lange, Richard Christie, Kathie Lee Gifford, Gheorghe Muresan, Maria Menounos and of course Ashton's actual serial buddies: Hal Rudnick, Todd Wilson and Gian Molina. The multi-talented Australian actor will also be contributing some of his original music to the film, which promises to be a film experience of total comic originality, with a lot of heart.

Menounos calls "Serial Buddies", "The first serial-killer-buddy film of all time - a combination of Napoleon Dynamite, Dexter, and Superbad." The film follows the escapades of Gregory von Gearhart and Gary Macarelli, two slightly intellectually challenged social rejects who engage in the odd spree of serial killing. Boasting extraordinary production design and wild costumes, "Serial Buddies" is currently in post-production. Producers hope to debut the film at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010, followed by a theatrical release later in the year.

Ashton is best known in Australia for his popular recurring role in the final season of "The Secret Life of Us," his starring role in the feature film 'Academy', and his groundbreaking work with the Bell Shakespeare Company. In addition to starring in "Serial Buddies," Ashton is currently in post-production with short film 'Champion', a film Ashton wrote, directed, produced and starred in also featuring up and coming British actress Wendy Glenn ("Mercy"). Look for the film in the Australian Tropfest Film Festival in January 2010.
