(BALI, INDONESIA) Bali is to play host to screenings of a number of high-profile movies at the Balinale 2011 International Film Festival, which takes place in November.
The event is designed to offer an opportunity for local directors to showcase their talents to a global audience, while allowing international moviemakers to visit Indonesia and see its potential as a location for filming or story concepts.
Last year's event saw high-profile screenings of movies such as Eat Pray Love starring Julia Roberts, part of which was set in Bali, as well as other international offerings included Animal Kingdom, Home by Christmas and A Good Day to Die.
In addition to the films themselves, the festival will involve workshops and free seminars offering insights into the creative process, with Oscar and British Academy award-winners taking part in the past.
This year, speakers will include veteran screenwriter and producer Gabrielle Kelly and the up-and-coming filmmaker Mustafa Davis.
The Balinale 2011 International Film Festival will run from November 15th to 20th at the Galeria 21 Cineplex, located around 20 minutes north of the airport.
