Students lead Georgia, the world in Fall 2011 ABRSM exams.

(Alpharetta, GA) Students from Atlanta's Peggy Still School of Music excelled in the recent Fall 2011 ABRSM (Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music) exams, with all 43 participating students passing the strenuous exams, including 26 students passing with Distinction and 15 students passing with High Merit scores.

ABRSM exams are held multiple times a year in select cities for both music theory and practical (performance) categories. Distinction scorers earned 130 – 150 out of a possible 150 points on the radical exams; High Merit earned 125 – 129 out of the possible 150 point. Distinction scorers on the theory exam earned at least 90 out of a possible 100 point.

PSSM students also comprise 20 of the 99 total students who earned the honor of being invited to the annual Georgia High Scorers' concert based on the Fall 2011 results, a greater number of students than any other music lessons school in Georgia.

Additionally, the School also has 3 Hedy King Robinson award winners (students who scored 100% on the theory exam) from the Fall 2011 exams. PSSM students earned 37.5% of all perfect scores for the Fall 2011 exam.

"Do these results suggest that we are one of the best music lessons schools in Georgia? I think they do," stated Brian Johnson, owner and President of Peggy Still School of Music. "In fact, our students' collective performance compares very favorably with ABRSM participants' scores worldwide, both in terms of overall passing rates and high scorer rates. This excellent performance is a testament to the quality and dedication of our students and their families, and of course our excellent teachers at the School."

"We are lucky and grateful to have such a great musical community here at the School," said Mr. Johnson.

All Distinction and High Merit scorers for the practical exam are invited to participate in the Fifteenth Georgia High Scorers' concert on January 22, 2012 at the Briarcliff Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.

Founded in 1988, Peggy Still School of Music has grown to more than 500 students and 40 teachers serving metro Atlanta from locations in Atlanta, Woodstock and Alpharetta. The School offers ABRSM, audition and college entrance preparation, private music lessons, after school music programs, many public performance opportunities and a professional recording studio. The School's motto is "all instruments, all styles, all levels and all ages."
