Steven Vargas announces the the arrival of the "Unofficial Google Plus Film Festival", hosted on the increasingly popular social network GOOGLE PLUS. 18 short films will stream live on December 3rd, followed by a Google+ Hangout Q&A with the filmmakers.

(Chicago, IL) -- Shortly after Google Plus opened its doors to an invite-only crowd, First-Generation user Steven Vargas recognizes fellow user Adam Cohen's decision to use the platform to start an online film festival. Now, 18 films from all over the world will be shown, streaming live, and all of the filmmakers will be available afterwards for a Q&A on Google+ Hangouts.

On Dec. 3, 2011, the inaugural Unofficial Google Plus Film Festival will play at http://www.vidcastnetwork.com. Every hour, on the hour, starting at 8:00 P.M. EST, there will be three, one-hour blocks of 6 individual films that can be viewed by anyone on the internet. After the screening, at approximately 11:30 P.M. EST, the public has the opportunity to chat with the filmmakers via Google+ Hangouts.

(Anyone who does not have a Google Plus profile can still view the hangout via the live stream on vidcastnetwork.com)

There is tremendous potential for the future of this film festival. There are so many great films created every year that hardly anyone sees. Social networking tools like Google+ can really help filmmakers and their audience find one another. I hope that future (Unofficial) Google+ Film Festivals will become the way to bridge that gap. - Adam J. Cohen
