NTP Technology Introduces RCCoreV3 Router Control System NTP Technology announced a major upgrade to its RCCore router control system. RCCore is a software application which handles configuration, control and supervision of all router modules in an NTP audio signal distribution system. It also forms a communication interface to NTP's VMC and BLISS control options and to third-party communication protocols.

"RCCoreV3 expands the capabilities of NTP's audio routers and gives existing customers the option of updating equipment already in operation," comments NTP Technology's Sales Director Mikael Vest. "It is based on the highly rugged QNX Neutrino real-time operating system. Benefits arising from implementing RCCoreV3 include remote access and login at expert-user level for system set-up, maintenance and database management. The new control software also allows secure access via Virtual Private Network. Extended features include a plug-and-play retro-compatible database which can be held on the active controller and on standby controllers. RCCoreV3 can be used as a stand-alone controller within the NTP 635-300 router or run from standard PC hardware. It allows highly efficient control of the router's dual-backbone interface and supports the double LAN interface on 625-800 frames. The feature set also includes future support for SNMP."

NTP's RCCoreV3 software operates through a network-based infrastructure with all communication based on TCP/IP link protocol and a 10 or 100 Mbit/s LAN/WAN interface. The 635 controller itself is a high-performance industrial-grade PC with an integral solid-state server providing fast control access and resources for additional control applications.

When hosted on the NTP 635 audio routing controller, RCCoreV3 replaces the DOS-based Sys632 and the NTP 632 controller. NTP 625 frames with 625-150 controller cards need to be upgraded with 625-151 cards as the 625-150 is not QNX-compatible.

Available now, NTP's RCCoreV3 router control system software will make its first exhibition appearance on the NTP stand (8.B51) at IBC2009.
