Train Your Eye with Rule of Thirds! Then, Unleash Its Wild Creativity!

The Rule of Thirds is a compositional technique used in photography, art and design. It involves mentally dividing the image into thirds horizontally and vertically and then placing the subject of the photograph along these lines or at the intersections of them. This creates a more balanced and interesting composition, as opposed to just placing the subject in the center of the frame. When using the Rule of Thirds, you should look for elements in the frame that can be used to draw the viewer’s eye, such as leading lines, points of interest, or contrasting colors.

Examples of Rule of Thirds in Photography

1. A sunset photo, with the sun placed in the right third of the frame.

2. A portrait photo, with the subject’s eyes placed in the upper third of the frame.

3. A landscape photo, with the horizon line on the lower third of the frame.

4. An urban photo, with the main subject placed in the left third of the frame.

5. A still life photo, with the main object placed in the center third of the frame.
