I’m looking for some opinions on what makes a good photographer. I know that there are many different opinions on this topic however, I’m curious to hear your opinions.

In my opinion, a good photographer has an artistic spirit and knows his equipment inside and out.

A good photographer has attention to detail. He will capture the perfect picture in regard to lighting, composition and time of day.

Attention to detail is important. You can also get the so-called “photobombs” if you are not careful.

Discipline. There were days when I had to wake up at 4 AM to snap a picture with the perfect natural light. If you are working on many projects at once, you need to push yourself to get the work done before the deadline. And you can’t let the quality of your work be affected by the thing that you are tired.

I could not imagine myself waking up at 4 AM multiple times. I am not a morning person. I guess you are not a morning person, either. Discipline is for sure an important quality!

Yesterday, I was watching a TikToker post about how he creates a few mindblowing photos. I would have never thought you can create such compositions without even having a big budget for it. A good photographer needs creative eyes, not just artistic ones. They are looking beyond the traditional standards of photography and creating innovative and unique images.

I am also watching this type of content on TikTok. It helps me understand that I need to think outside the box and try something new.
