MauraParticipantI would! I have a gimbal for a smartphone, I have a ring light, all I need is an iPhone 15 and some spare time! 😀

MariluzParticipantAt the beginning I would say yes, but after checking out the prices range for a new iPhone 15 (from $799 to $1,199) I believe it’s better to find a pretty decent professional camera by those prices, with lower risks of falling (because let’s keep in mind that iPhone has many uses and you don’t save it in a bag as a camera) and more versatility (interchangeable lenses). Also, the low-key quality just vanished. Those big lenses are too notorious (here in Colombia any skilled robber could do terrible things for a cheaper phone). I have to be realistic on that.

KimKeymasterI don’t know any professionals that would jump at shooting with an Iphone but I think for students the Iphone 15 could be an option for some projects. However, you are right about costs Mariluz. I think for the same price of the high end Iphone you can get some of the new pro camera bodies with low cost lenses. I saw a Sony a7 II Mirrorless Camera with 28-70mm Lens and Accessories Kit for less than a thousand dollars after doing a quick search just now.

KareenParticipantWhile the convenience and quality of an iPhone for filmmaking are well-known, a valuable point is the accessibility it offers. With an iPhone, you can easily explore and experiment with filmmaking techniques without the need for expensive equipment, making it a great tool for learning and creativity.
