7th Annual Reel Teal Film Festival

Students, Professors, Filmmakers, and all artists alike:

Reel Teal Film Festival is upon us. For seven consecutive years, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington's esteemed Flicker Film Society has put on one of the region's best student-run film festivals. This year will top all previous incarnations by an order of magnitude- at least.

Reel Teal Film Festival is a solely student-organized film festival presented by members of the Flicker Film Society at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. If the Oscars and Sundance had a baby, that baby would be Reel Teal. With emphasis on the award show atmosphere, this festival programs innovative films from filmmakers, students, and enthusiasts, to promote a community that fosters competition and cinematic diversity. Complete with a teal carpet, photographers, Q&A with filmmakers, and lively hosts, Reel Teal encompasses all your film festival and award show needs.

We hope that you will join us for this year’s Reel Teal Film Festival, which will take place on April 19th, 2013, in UNCW's gorgeous Lumina Theatre. This year Reel Teal is going to be bigger and better than ever, showcasing your local favorites alongside international showstoppers while drenched in this years theme- The Blockbuster. To ramp up the action we've joined forces with without-a-box, the largest digital submission service in the world. New to 2013, we're also offering $150 prize for our Grand Prix winner, and a $50 prize for our audience choice winner, dressing up as our favorite blockbuster characters, serving up theme inspired food and decorations, and incorporating acts!

We accept student and non-student works alike. Our main stipulation is that the film be short- 15 minutes or less from the start of the work til the start of the credits (additional rules can be found within our submission form, or on without-a-box). The cost to enter is $20 ($15 for certain WAB filmmakers). Our prize categories are varied and can be found on our website. Winners receive a Teal Film Reel trophy, and some include a monetary prize. Perks also include the potential for your film to be seen by major producers working in the Wilmington area (Wilmington has recently shot Iron Man 3, Safe Haven, Revolution).

Films can be submitted through without-a-box **, or by visiting our website- uncwflickerfilmsociety.wordpress.com

Submissions are due APRIL 1ST, so get on the ball now if you want to enter!! For additional information visit our website, without-a-box listing, or contact us at reeltealfilmfestival@gmail.com

**On without-a-box our listing is Reel Teal Film Festival UNCW (not be confused with our previous listing which didn't include the UNCW part on the end).
