I tend to agree but I can see where you might need an intimacy coordinator with all the legal issues going on now. Including this one with Justin Baldoni: https://pagesix.com/2025/03/19/celebrity-news/justin-baldonis-attorney-blasts-ryan-reynolds-for-filing-to-dismiss-lawsuit/

Recently I was talking with a filmmaker about the movie he made that had a lack of chemistry between the leading talent and was one of the issues he had to deal with.

Do you think that Intimacy Coordinators would have prevented chemistry of famous romances?

Humphrey Bogart famously fell in love with his leading lady, Lauren Bacall, while filming To Have and Have Not (1944). Their on-screen chemistry translated into real life, leading to one of Hollywood’s most iconic romances. They married in 1945 and stayed together until Bogart’s passing in 1957.

Here are some other famous cases where actors fell in love while working together on a movie:

Classic Hollywood Romances

  • Clark Gable & Carole Lombard (No Man of Her Own, 1932) – They met on set and married in 1939.
  • Spencer Tracy & Katharine Hepburn (Woman of the Year, 1942) – Though Tracy never divorced his wife, he and Hepburn had a long-term, deeply committed romance.

More Modern Love Stories

  • Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, 2005) – Their on-screen romance turned into a real-life relationship, leading to a high-profile marriage and later divorce.
  • Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively (Green Lantern, 2011) – Though the movie flopped, their relationship didn’t! They married in 2012 and have built a strong family together.
  • Tom Holland & Zendaya (Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2017) – They kept things quiet for years but eventually confirmed their real-life romance.

Honorable Mentions

  • Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song, 2010) – An on-again, off-again relationship that led to marriage (and later, divorce).
  • Daniel Craig & Rachel Weisz (Dream House, 2011) – They married soon after working together on this thriller.

Hollywood is full of passionate on-set romances that spill over into real life—sometimes ending in happily-ever-after, and sometimes in heartbreak and then others where an intimacy coordinator might have saved a lot of legal fees and more.
