Reply To: Documentary films can be highly manipulative

I think it’s important to understand that people make very manipulative documentaries. The very definition of the word document is – “a piece of written, printed, or electronic matter that provides information or evidence or that serves as an official record.” I think a more faithful to the meaning of documentary will be films about what is going on from all angles. However, that is just my opinion, and people will define truth as they see it and rationalize, justify and act on it based on their perspectives and views without warning, so, something to think about.

I am thinking about how I can do a documentary video contest and what criteria the judges will use to measure whether it’s a good documentary.
