  • Film Directors Role

Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, and visualizes the script while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of filmmaking.

It is funny that the "Director" and "Producer" are two roles that people get the most confused about what they do. In the indie world the lines often cross more than when there is enough money to hire all the crew needed.

Did a video on the subject.

Some times i just got shocked to watch some movies and the thinking the logic behind that movies in the mind of a director .... a director should be clever and smart enough ,, he has to imagine and watch everything from the sight of the audience that what they are gonna like ..... movie like PK & Mad Max Furry Road are so incredibly directed that ..... i cant even imagine in that way :P

A film director is a person who directs the making of film.Directors are responsible for creatively translating the film's written script into actual images and sounds on the screen. They are ultimately responsible for a film's artistic and commercial success or failure.

One of my favorite directors (which you all might have guessed) is Wes Anderson. I like what you said about the director being the author of the movie, Kim. Here's an interview about Wes Anderson that gives some details about his process as "author":

I thought it was especially cool that Anderson doesn't like his actors to commute, and asks them to kind of stay in the movie's world the entire time they're filming

No I haven't, but I wish I had. I haven't written any pieces on films or directors outside of college essays yet, unfortunately, but I'd love to freelance sometime
