Camera/Steadicam Operator Location, Los Angeles, CA

#ThrowbackThursday #TBT  Do you remember our Community Spotlight with Jerry Franck?

Jerry Franck, a member of the SOC and the Digital Cinema Society, is a camera/steadicam operator in the Los Angeles area. He has experience with most HD and film cameras and is proficient in geared head operating. He owns his own complete steadicam package for any type of camera (up to 7 lbs). “I mostly work on student and low budget shoots. I frame/composite the shot with the director and DP and keep talent in frame as the camera moves.”

Biggest Challenge:
“The director had designed a long continuous shot that started high up in the trees, and then, moved down into a house, following an actor…”

Solution:
“We combined a dolly/jib step-off with the steadicam.”

Favorite Technique:
“Following a hand or a small object on a close lens.”

Favorite Tool: “My GPI PRO 2 rig for steadicam work.”

Inspiration:
“I find inspiration in my fellow crew members, the SOC, friends and, of course, movies.”

Filmography includes:
The War Within (“A” Cam/Steadicam): 24P HD short.
Last Call (Steadicam): 5mm promo trailer.
Darkness of the Night (Camera Operator) RED 4k short
Dunes 1-3 (Camera Operator) 24P HD shorts
Black Devil Doll (2nd Unit Camera Operator) 24P HD feature
